Introduction: Unite For Body Rights-UBR is an alliance of nine Bangladeshi organization and two international organization working to establish the SRHR rights of the young people in Bangladesh. The Unite for Body Rights (UBR) programme in Bangladesh has successfully focused on improving SRHR knowledge and access to services, by providing Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in and out of school, improving health providers’ capacity to provide YFSRH services, and working with communities to create a more supportive environment in which young people can exercise their SRH rights. It is the dream of the UBR programme to have a fully capacitated SRHR Alliance that works towards achieving good SRH for young people. This is a very special project to work with innovation and commitment towards protection of the SRHR of young people in Bangladesh. UBR Alliance-Bangladesh would like to have services from the potential persons who want to grow in a Rights focused environment and have passion for achievement for its UBR Project-2 (2016-2019) objectives.
POSITION PURPOSE:The Advocacy, Communication & Documentation Manager (ACDM)will play an important role in developing and implementing UBR Bangladesh Alliance’s advocacy strategy within Bangladesh and the region and the resource mobilization to ensure sustainability of interventions and strategies. Assists with the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of UBR Bangladesh Alliance’s advocacy interventions and deliver regular analysis and updates for management. Identify and develop fundraising opportunities in private sector by developing good relations with current and prospective donors also assess trends and developments of UBR Bangladesh Alliance and its potential for funding opportunities.As Communications, and Documentation Managers/he will be responsible for delivering media and communications strategyat national and regional level, as well as for maintaining project documentations.S/he will be a superb communicator and Networker in local, national and international arenas with considerable experience in journalism, media, or public relations.
Main tasks and responsibilities
In collaboration with program teams and partners develop and implement UBR Media, communications and advocacy strategy in Bangladesh at national and regional level;
Liaising closely with Team Leader of UBR Alliance, SC member and Program Managers in delivering the Media, communications and advocacy strategy
Represent UBR Bangladesh Alliance in lobby and advocacy actions, consultation meetings/conferences within civil society, business, political and government circles in Bangladesh or the region;
Play a proactive role in pursuing UBR Bangladesh Alliance’s resource mobilization activities related to lobby and advocacy, seek out and respond to relevant calls for proposal, participate in the development of other project proposals;
Closely monitor developments in national, regional and international political and economic cooperation and leads in adapting shared UBR Bangladesh Alliance policy on SRHR strategies and developments in Bangladesh;
Assists with the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of UBR Bangladesh Alliance’s advocacy interventions and deliver regular analysis and updates for management;
Develops and maintains partnership with relevant actors in pursuit of lobby and advocacy objectives;
Assess trends and developments of UBR Bangladesh Alliance and it’s partners and its potential for funding opportunities
The post-holder will work closely with 6 implementing and 3 technical partner organizations and as well as local and national government
S/he will ensure that an effective advocacy plan is developed, updated, implemented and integrated in the overall project implementation and management plan.
Analyze and evaluate the impact of advocacy activities and reflect this in progress reports, working in collaboration with all team.
Take the lead in researching, writing and promoting media stories to local and national print and electronic media
Any other tasks within the scope of the role as directed and agreed.
