Educational Qualification:

Advanced university degree in business administration, HRM or other relevant disciplines. Fluency in English and Bangla (both oral and written). Experience or degree in psycho-social counseling will be advantageous.


Experience:

Eight years experience in an HR capacity with increasing responsibility to include at least 5 years in a management role, preferably in a multi-cultural environment. Experience in international organization a significant plus. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, and Outlook required.


Requirement:

Knowledge, skills and abilities

an understanding of relevant NGO Bureau legislation, policies and procedures will be advantageous..
Be willing to occasionally travel for work, as required.
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Ability to interact with colleagues and stakeholders with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity and to communicate within all levels of the organization.
Expert knowledge of International, Bangladesh employment and wage laws and regulations.
Familiarity with organizational development theory and practices.
Proven ability to remain objective, discrete and exercise common sense at all times. Able to develop strong, trusting relationships within department and organization.

Job Title: Admin & People Officer

Reporting to: Team Leader

Introduction: Unite For Body Rights-UBR is an alliance of nine Bangladeshi organization and two international organization working to establish the SRHR rights of the young people in Bangladesh. The Unite for Body Rights (UBR) programme in Bangladesh has successfully focused on improving SRHR knowledge and access to services, by providing Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in and out of school, improving health providers’ capacity to provide YFSRH services, and working with communities to create a more supportive environment in which young people can exercise their SRH rights. It is the dream of the UBR programme to have a fully capacitated SRHR Alliance that works towards achieving good SRH for young people. This is a very special project to work with innovation and commitment towards protection of the SRHR of young people in Bangladesh. UBR Alliance-Bangladesh would like to have services from the potential persons who want to grow in a Rights focused environment and have passion for achievement for its UBR Project-2 (2016-2019) objectives.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Admin & People officer (APO) needs more than traditional HR & Admin, which centers on office administration, people, process and policies. These are important aspects and they need to get done, but the APO’s focus should be building culture; facilitating an environment that enables the best possible way of working together. It’s a strategic shift in how UBR think about people. The position will also play a pivotal role in driving forward broader HRM Reform.Thus, will focus on the culture trifecta: people, value and capacity. S/he has to know who is working for the alliance, the value they generate for the alliance, and what’s needed to turn that value up to its full capacity. S/he should apply psychological knowledge, theory and practice to the world of work. The aim to help an organisation get the best performance from their employees and also to improve employees' job satisfaction. It is coaching managers on how to inspire and reward employees. The APO will be responsible for developing and delivering UBR People Strategy to meet challenges and, as part of a highly-talented executive team, be expected to play a full part in delivering the wider transformation of the way UBR Shape and work with partners.

Key tasks:


1. Administrative tasks:

Handle admin and HRM related office expenses
Manage office equipment and infrastructure to ensure a well-running office
Make logistic arrangement including flights reservations, hotel and vehicle arrangement for project staffs, visitors/partners, donors, consultants, volunteers and interns
Conduct procurement of stationery for staff and meetings/workshops and assets of the office
Prepare correspondence, memos, reports, presentations, and emails to local counterparts, donors or other related offices or agencies in relation to the office operations
Carry out other duties such as take minutes of office meetings as requested by the supervisor
Update the filling system and manage filing the office documents for both hard and electronic copies.

2. People related tasks

Leading on UBR’s People Strategy, taking ownership for the delivery of improved leadership and management capability and creating an environment that motivates a diverse workforce through a continuous programme of learning and talent strategies
Deliver a flexible, accountable and modern HR Operating Model that delivers excellent HR services within UBR and dovetail with the broader HR Operating Model for UBR Alliance.
Play a full part in embedding the new UBR Operating Model, including HRM Reform, designed to achieve flatter management structures, improved services, less bureaucracy and reduced cost

As a people officer s/he will be responsible for:

Positioning UBR in the cross partner HRM reform agenda. 
Review and updating all human resources policies of partner organizations and prepare a guideline for working closely with various departments, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures;
promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization;
undertaking regular salary reviews;

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Suggest senior management to implement and support UBR Alliance policies, practices and programs.
Provide objective and strategic input and guidance to HRM Managers across the alliance partner organizations, including career development, and general management / employee relationship issues.

Personnel selection and assessment - developing, implementing or evaluating employee selection procedures, including psychometric tests, assessment centre exercises and structured interviews. Developing talent management processes and systems so organizations can identify and develop their high-potential employees.

Performance appraisal and career development - providing coaching, guidance and advice to employees in order to help them plan and manage their careers. Designing performance appraisal systems that enable an organization to measure, manage and reward the performance of its employees.

Counseling and personal development - working one-to-one with individuals to support them in becoming more successful and effective in delivering their organizational objectives, while also enhancing their personal well-being.

Employee relations and motivation - mediating in situations where there is interpersonal conflict between employees/ management or an employment dispute.

Organizational development and change - designing, developing and implementing change management initiatives aimed at helping employees to cope successfully with changes taking place in their workplace, such as restructuring, down-sizing or new business processes.
